President's Message
MAY 2026:
It's a late post but still works!!
Well April was an amazing month for the club , having 102 attendees last month and around 18 paid signed membership from the Gem & Mineral Show. A big thanks to the chairmen of the show Roberta Chase for having us on top the entrance. Giving the club awesome exposure when attendees come in. Handing out about 125 waivers for the 3 days there. The May 19th meeting should be packed with new members and visitors alike.
A HUGE THANKS TO ALL OF THE MEMBERS AND OFFICERS THAT WERE THERE TO HELP. MISS SEEING PHIL LANIER THERE THIS YEAR DUE TO MED ISSUES. GET BETTER BROTHER!!!
Hopefully there will be more signing up then. The seat will be a little tight so let utilize all of the seating as possible. We will have ample seating set up along the back wall as well. We inquired about getting the larger room downstairs that's used for the party. But we are locked into where we're at into next year.
The club is seeking out members to fill two important positions.
One is the claims manager. And the other is the equipment manager.
Claims experience is a must. No mistakes can be made when doing the filing each year. And the equipment manager needs the space for an approx 12x18 covered storage shed to have the equipment placed in. If interested in one of these positions please approach one us know at the meeting. Thank you!
THERE IS A MEW MEETING FLOOR PLAN THAT WILL TAKE PLACE STARTING THIS MAY MEETING. SEE POSTED PICS AT THE END OF THE PRES MESSAGE ALSO GRAB HANDOUT AT THE DOOR AS YOU COME IN. MARK WILL BE AT REAR SIDE DOOR WHERE MOST ENTER. PLEASE GRAB A NAME TAG UPON ENTERING. BEAU WITH THE MERCHANDISE WILL BE ALONG THE WALL WITH 3-4 TABLES AND WITH MEMBERSHIP WHERE MARK USE TO SIT AND ROBERT THE GOLD GUY BETWEEN THEM.
Hopefully this will help with the congestion at the meetings at this time. Raffles and front tables will remain the same.Gold contest is in high gear. Will be exciting to see who ealks away with first place. And big thanks to Eric Teot for donating some of the gold on the raffle table each meeting. Just helping the club grow more! The outings are posted for the year on the clubs website. Ugpc.org. look and plan for this season. Have 40 more claims guides at the meeting on Tuesday. Will see how long they last this time. More information has been updated inside. They are still $30. But there probably be a price increase next run if needled.
Water down on 3, 4 and 7 is pretty low. If wanting to dredge better get on it because water is dropping fast. Summer is going to be bad!!!
And here's the good news. Have an awesome lecture on the 19th by Qwentyn Perry titled " RESEARCH AND MAPPING OF PLACER DEPOSITS ". This will be very informative for those very serious about finding gold in placer deposits. Giving a good perspective on how to do it. Well see ya Tuesday and come early to get a good seat. Thanks from the all of the officer's for all of the members and membership. "THIS IS WHY WE DO IT""
Thanks,
Phillip Yadanza
