When should we expect the 2026 outings schedule?
I'm trying to get my 2026 calendar planned out.
I assume the wasatch gem club at the end of April will also be a 2026 outing. (I'm also a member of Wasatch gem club so I'll be around there anyway)

Does anybody near West Jordan have a miller table they can show me how to use? I have 1/4 of a snuffer bottle full of black sand i would love to see if there is anything in it. I want to buy a miller table but have never seen how one is used other than on YouTube lol
Below is what i found in the black sands, and also our first "wild gold" hahaha yes it's tiny but I am SO EXCITED to have found it!!!!🎉🎉🎉
You could make your own miller table. There are youtube videos on how to do it with a cutting mat or chalk board paint.

Hi there i can't remember exactly but at one of the meetings they said something about filling out a form if you go to one of the claims? Can someone help?
Yes, when visiting one of our claims we ask that you fill out a work completed form. It's required by the government to show we are actively working our claims. It's at the bottom of the page on our claims section of the website. Link is below. Thank you

We went down to claim #7. We had planned on going up to the gulch but with the rain we decided to head south! We dont really know what we are doing, and didn't have any luck but we had a great weekend! Even stopped on our way home to see the petroglyphs! We will definitely go down and try again!!

Another helpful site is topozone.com free topographic maps. Both sites are phone friendly and easy to use.

Hi my name is Will been with the club for a few months now and I am very interested in going up to this next outing to Idaho. I been trying to make sense of the permits I would need but need a little help understanding what I'm looking at exactly. If anyone can help me out with information it would be greatly appreciated.

You need to send off the application w the Money to IDWR ASAP. Or you could stop at an IDWR Office and pay and get your permit immediately. I sent mine off last week. I hope it gets back in time.

We typically wait until February and March to see how the weather is and where its safe to have the outings. Typically, April is the Gem show, but we have made Sevier the April outing many times in the past.
